ProjeHERO: A 3-Stage STEM Learning Model Aligned with Global Goals
ProjeHERO integrates Global Goals, Design Thinking, and Engineering Design Processes to provide students with a 3-stage learning model designed to enhance their STEM skills. This project takes inspiration from Al-Jazari’s groundbreaking inventions, guiding students on an innovative journey.
Awareness Stage - Historical Perspective (Project History):
In this stage, students explore the story of Al-Jazari, renowned for his pioneering work in engineering and mechanics. By studying his inventions and machines, they gain an understanding of the foundations of engineering and the cultural impact of scientific discoveries. This process enhances their empathy and problem identification skills.
Discovery Stage - Exploring Modern Technologies (Project Explore):
In the second stage, students delve into fundamental mechanical principles such as wheels, motors, and gear systems. This phase incorporates the research and ideation stages of the Engineering Design Process. Through hands-on activities, students develop innovative solutions to engineering challenges while gaining practical experience in mechanical systems.
Testing and Production Stage - Product Development (Project Production):
In the final stage, students design, produce, and test a robotic arm vehicle. They apply the prototyping, testing, and refinement stages of Design Thinking to enhance the basic model into a more functional and innovative product. This stage fosters creativity and the ability to develop sustainable designs.
ProjeHERO aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), promoting sustainable innovation and creativity. Additionally, it adheres to ISTE Standards, encouraging critical thinking, problem-solving, and creative production.
Join ProjeHERO to combine history, innovation, and sustainability and shape the engineers of tomorrow!
