ProjeHERO: A 3-Stage STEM Learning Model Aligned with Global Goals
ProjeHERO combines Global Goals, Design Thinking, and Engineering Design Processes in a 3-stage learning approach to help students build a strong foundation in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). This comprehensive model supports learners at every step, from historical inspiration to innovative product development.
Awareness Stage - Historical Perspective:
In this stage, students draw inspiration from pioneers like Thomas Edison and learn about the groundbreaking discoveries of the past. This phase incorporates the empathy and defining stages of design thinking, helping students develop sensitivity to scientific challenges and motivating them to innovate for the future.
Discovery Stage - Exploring Modern Technologies:
During the second stage, students explore Edison’s contributions to lighting technologies and delve into modern systems and advancements. This phase applies the research and ideation stages of the Engineering Design Process, encouraging innovative thinking while raising awareness of global goals such as sustainability, energy efficiency, and innovation.
Testing and Production Stage - Product Development:
In the final stage, students test and refine their designed models. The prototyping, testing, and improvement stages of design thinking and engineering processes are combined. For example, students design and produce a table lamp and then enhance it with innovative features to make it more functional and sustainable. This stage fosters creative problem-solving and sustainable product development skills.
ProjeHERO aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) to inspire students to create solutions for a better world. Additionally, it supports ISTE Standards, focusing on critical thinking, problem-solving, and creative design.
Join ProjeHERO to embark on a journey that enhances global awareness, fosters innovative thinking, and nurtures the leaders of tomorrow!
